Half a century on one slope

Skiers built this resort themselves. To this day, every som it earns goes back into it.

Kashka-Suu hotel in winter
  1. 1976

A ski club is founded at the Kyrgyzelektrodvigatel factory. Its members are engineers, geologists, architects and economists who share a love of the mountains.

  2. 1977

The club builds an 870 m petrol-powered T-bar lift with its own hands.

  3. 1985

A development plan is approved: a hotel, a double chairlift and supporting infrastructure.

  4. 1991

To keep the resort going, the Kashka-Suu Tourist Centre company is founded. Construction is finished and the resort opens.

  5. 2023

Snowmaking is installed from the top of the run to the bottom: over 2 km of pipes, pumps, 20 hydrants and 4 new snow cannons.

Snowmaking along the whole run

Last autumn we installed snowmaking from the very top of the run to the bottom: we laid over 2 km of pipes, put in powerful pumps, ran power lines, bought 4 more snow cannons and installed 20 hydrants.

Getting here

30 km from Bishkek: 26 km on asphalt, then turn left before Ala-Archa Nature Park and drive 4 km on a dirt road.

In winter the road from the fork to the resort is cleared by snowploughs and gritted. It's wide enough for two cars to pass.
